About UUIDs
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit identifier that is guaranteed to be unique across space and time.
UUID v4 uses random numbers and is the most common version for most applications.
UUID v1 is based on the current timestamp and MAC address of the computer.
Nil UUID is a special UUID with all bits set to zero.
